While creating or editing a Time Clock Import template, you can choose advanced options that provide greater flexibility for importing time clock data.
Suppressing Meal Breaks/Auto-DeductionsSuppressing Meal Breaks/Auto-Deductions
In punch pairs templates, you can now choose to include a suppression flag to eliminate any scheduled meal break or flexible meal auto-deduction that would normally be applied to an employee.
To suppress meal breaks/auto-deductions:
1. Select Suppress Meal Break/Auto Dedn from the Contains drop-down list.
2. Click the Map Values button.
The Map Column ValuesMap Column Values page displays.
3. For Yes and No, type whatever codes indicate yes/suppress and no/do not suppress in your import file.
4. Click the Save & Exit button.
If an applicable employee's punch spans the scheduled meal break, the system does not process the triple punch for the meal break when importing the punches.
Re-Arranging the Order of ColumnsRe-Arranging the Order of Columns
You can easily rearrange the order of columns in a template to match your import file.
To rearrange the order of columns, click the arrow buttonsarrow buttons in the Order column.
For example, if Date is currently the second column in the template, but it is the third column in your import file, click the down arrow next to Date to move it down to the third position. (Whatever is in the third column in the template now moves up to the second column.)
Mapping Single Columns to Multiple FieldsMapping Single Columns to Multiple Fields
When setting up the import template, you can now map a single column from the import file to multiple ExponentHR fields. For example, one of the columns in your import file might contain a combination of location/department/job codes in the variable rate type (with no spaces or tabs between the codes). You need to map this column to the right fields in ExponentHR.
To map a single column number that contains multiple fields:
1. Click the icon
for each field you want to string together.
2. Select the field in the Contains drop-down list.
3. Click the Map Values button to map the values in your import file with the codes in ExponentHR.
The
icon indicates that the field is linked with the previous field and
that it appears in the same column in the import file.
