Managers may submit a request to re-hire a Terminated employee in payroll and HR systems on a specific date. The Re-Hire Terminated Employee EAN displays the same fields as the New Hire Enrollment EAN with the employee’s information already filled in.
Notes:
If the employee was a contractor, populated fields from the Contractor/Consultant Access EAN appear instead of from the New Hire Enrollment EAN. See the Related Help Topics for help in filling out these fields for a Paid or No Payroll contractor.
You can use the Re-Hire Terminated Employee EAN only if the employee's status is terminated. A prompt will appear if this employee has been designated as not re-hirable.
Note on Completion: After the EAN is approved, it will immediately complete unless:
It has a future effective date.
An earlier EAN for the same employee is pending.

To re-hire a terminated employee:
1. On the Menu, click HR Administration > eAction NoticeHR Administration > eAction Notice.
The eAction Notice (EAN) SummaryeAction Notice (EAN) Summary page displays.
2. Click the Create EANCreate EAN button.
The Create New EAN(s)Create New EAN(s) window displays.
3. Select the terminated employee for which you would like to re-hire from the Employee drop-down box.
4. Select the Re-Hire Employee EAN from the EAN type selection box and click the button.
The Re-Hire EmployeeRe-Hire Employee page for the employee you selected displays in a new window.
5. Enter the date and time to return the terminated employee to active employment status in the ReHire DateReHire Date text box.
6. Review the rest of the pre-populated fields on the Re-Hire Employee EAN for accuracy. If any information has changed since the employee was terminated, enter the new information in the appropriate field.
Notes:
If a field has an asterisk (*) next to it, you must complete that field to submit the EAN. Fields without asterisks (*) are optional fields.
If there is an Action RequiredAction Required button next to any field that you want to edit, click it to view the required actions and supplemental instructions.

7. Enter any notes related to the EAN in the EAN Notes text box.
8. Click the Save as DraftSave as Draft button at the top or bottom of the page to keep the requested change in a drafted status so that it may be edited and submitted for completion at a later time.
Note: When an EAN is put in a drafted status, a Draft EAN NoticeDraft EAN Notice with a link to the unsubmitted EAN is provided on the ExponentHR Dashboard.
9. After entering all necessary changes to the Re-Hire Employee EAN, click the Approve button.
Result: The EAN you just completed is now visible on the eAction Notice (EAN) Summary page. After the EAN is completed, the employee will be returned to active employment status on the date you entered.
Notes:
You may also click the Save as DraftSave as Draft button to save your changes to the EAN without submitting it.
